Code of Ethics
The Human Reiki Practitioner Code of Ethics
見出しH2
As a Reiki Practitioner working with animals and their guardians, I recognise that pet parents are deeply connected to their animal companions. I honour this bond and commit to the following ethical principles in my healing work:
1. Honouring the Pet-Parent Relationship
- I deeply respect the emotional connection between pet parents and their animals.
- I acknowledge that pet parents often come with their own concerns, fears, and hopes regarding their animal’s well-being.
- I hold space for both the animal and the human as part of the healing process.
2. Creating a Safe, Supportive Environment
- I offer a non-judgmental space where pet parents feel safe to express their feelings, whether they are experiencing joy, confusion, grief, or guilt.
- I listen with empathy and validate the emotional journey of the pet parent.
- I aim to empower, not diagnose, blame, or direct.
3. Informed Consent and Clear Communication
- I explain the nature and scope of Reiki clearly before each session.
- I seek informed consent from pet parents and ensure they understand that Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive, complementary practice—not a replacement for medical care.
- I welcome questions and encourage open dialogue.
4. Emotional Sensitivity and Compassion
- I approach sensitive situations—such as animal illness, behavioural challenges, or end-of-life care—with deep compassion.
- I remain present and supportive, especially during times of uncertainty or transition.
- I never pressure pet parents to “do more” or question their decisions; instead, I support them in finding peace and clarity.
5. Transparency and Integrity
- I am honest about what Reiki can and cannot offer.
- I never make claims of guaranteed healing or promote unrealistic expectations.
- I disclose my training and experience honestly and do not practice beyond my skill level.
6. Confidentiality and Trust
- I hold all personal information shared by pet parents in strict confidence.
- I respect the vulnerability involved in opening up about one’s animal and personal experiences.
- I protect this trust as the foundation of all healing work.
7. Respecting the Pet Parent’s Intuition
- I encourage pet parents to trust their own inner knowing about their animal.
- I do not override their instincts or impose my personal beliefs.
- I may offer intuitive insights, but always with humility, care, and the understanding that they are meant to support—not replace—the pet parent’s wisdom.
8. Commitment to Self-Awareness and Growth
- I continue to grow spiritually and emotionally so I can support others with clarity and presence.
- I engage in my own self-care and healing, understanding that my state of being affects the healing space I create.
- I seek mentorship, reflection, and ongoing learning as part of my commitment to serve pet parents with depth and sincerity.
9. Service for the Highest Good
- I honour the sacredness of the pet–parent journey and serve with humility and gratitude.
- I trust Reiki to flow in the way that best supports all beings involved, without attachment to outcomes.
- I hold every session as an opportunity for deep connection, healing, and love.
